New Shoes

August 24th, 2010

The other day the boys and I were in an elevator with a few other people.  A lady that was in there with us was wearing some nice shoes that I commented on.  She replied that she thought they were a bit flashy (they had rhinestones on them) but that she liked them.

Upon hearing this conversation, Camden spoke up.  He said that his shoes were flashy too!  He then stomped on the floor and made the lights come on in his new Woody and Buzz Lightyear tennis shoes.

Everyone just laughed, because his shoes were indeed flashy.

I’m not mad at you

August 5th, 2010

Today after I put Camden in time-out for lying to me about something he had done, he looked at me and said, “I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at myself.”  Is he really only 3?

Boiled Egg….. plants?

August 3rd, 2010

I must first start this post by stating that Camden loves boiled eggs.   That being said, Mom is growing tomatos and eggplants and  she was showing them to Camden the other day.  As she was showing him she was explaining that when they got ripe enough they could pick them.  Camden thought this was great and to which he added “and then we can boil them.”  3 year old logic – you have tomato plants that grow tomatos, so eggplants must grow eggs.

After trying to explain that these were not the type of eggs that you boil, she explained that she would make a casserole.  Camden said that would be good to as he liked rolls.

I love my kid.

Imagination Overdrive

August 3rd, 2010

Camden has really hit his imagination button lately.  He is so much fun to play with.  I already wrote about our Knightly adventures.  We have also been pirates and architects and monsters and apparently detectives.

Last night at dinner, Camden was telling Mike that the TV wasn’t working right.  And after we discussed it a bit he announced, “I have solved the mystery!  It is the bulb.”  He was so dramatic and serious.  I wish I could go back to living in his world!

Brotherly Love

August 3rd, 2010

The other evening the boys and I were outside playing when Jax fell.  He started crying so I sent Cam to go see if he was OK.  Camden ran out to him and soon he stopped crying.  Camden was so proud.  “Mommy, I made him feel better.”  This didn’t last long because as soon as Jax saw me, he started crying again.  This didn’t daunt Camden though.  He went over and patted Jackson’s head and said it will be ok.  And then he put his arm around his little brother and continued to offer comforting words as they walked towards me.  Then I heard Jackson say, “Tank You…”  After he stopped crying, Camden took his hand and led him to me.

It was sooo sweet.  I really wish I had my camera.  It was such a cute shot of them walking together with Camden’s arm around Jax.  I hope this protective nature lasts.
