Late this week, Jackson has taken to pulling up on various furniture and scooting along its edge to the next piece. He took two unaided steps yesterday between the couch and his bouncer! I had a chance to catch him using his hippo a few days ago. One day he would grab it and fall down, the next day this. He’s almost there!

Michael passed the second and final part of his CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) exam!!! Yea! My husband is a genius. And for those of you who do not know what CCNA is, it is an IT certification for Cisco who make routers – that is about as technical as I can get for you.
Now on to his MCSE, which is 7 tests I believe. This will get him the lovely designation of Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
I am so proud of you!!!!!!

There is a popular quote that says, “Life is what happens while you are making plans”. For some reason the other day this popped into my head and really spoke to me.
I catch myself often thinking, when Mike gets a job we will ______ (fill in the blank), or when we retire we will ___________, or when the kids are a little bit older we will __________. I don’t want to look back on my life in 20 years and think, I missed so much. Who knows if I even have 20 years.
Life is what happens every day. It isn’t always sweet or great, but a lot of it is. Today the boys and I went to the park. It wasn’t anything spectacular or extraordinary, but it was fun. They had fun, I had fun… I got to chase my 2 year old and hear him giggle, I got to watch my 1 year old try to eat the wood fiber on the playground.
It is the small things, the day-to-day experiences that make up a lifetime. The big moments are like exclamation points, but they don’t tell the main story. I want to remember the smell of my kids after a bath, the feel of their bodies as they snuggle and watch tv or read a book, the look in my husband’s eyes when he smiles at me. And to remember these, I have to experience life every day – truly experience it and not merely look towards the next big moment.
So this is my goal… to relax, to enjoy, to savor, to simply BE in each moment, even if the kids are screaming and the dishes need washing. Because this is LIFE after all.

Just downloaded and installed Windows Live Writer so that I could add some cool effects to inserted pictures. Let’s insert a picture with some effects, like tilting and rounded corners. Alright. Now lets add one that looks like a polaroid with some text.
That’s it for now. There are other plugins I want to try for Live Writer, but I’ll look at those later.
