This holiday has been a good one. Amy, the boys, and I went to my family’s Thanksgiving breakfast, then over to her family’s Thanksgiving Supper. Then Amy’s sister’s two boys came home with us so they could play on our Wii. Camden didn’t want to sleep Continue Reading »
Camden is always excited to see his PawPaw! This morning I was giving him his bath and told him we were going to see PawPaw for breakfast. He said, “Yeah! PawPaw says Roooolllltiiide!”
It’s something Amy and I have been planning for a while. Although we didn’t expect it to come this soon. Camden may not be ready, but Jackson is outgrowing the cradle and we have to move him to the crib soon. So, we bought some rails and a waterproof mattress cover, and Camden has just now fallen asleep for the first time in his “bigboy” bed. He wanted me to lay beside him at first, but didn’t put up a fuss when I politely refused. He looks so sweet with his monkey cradled in his arms.
When we first moved to our house, I had accidentally left some paint supplies out on the front porch overnight and some raccoons had left little red tracks out there. We decided to leave them for posterity. This morning, Camden was helping me feed the cats and found them. He excitedly yelled “Clue! Clue!”.
I believe we may have to cut back on the Blues’ Clues.
My husband is a technofile and has set up a nice theatre system in our living room. It has surround sound speakers mounted strategically in the ceiling, a drop down 100″ screen, and a projector. Unfortunately a few months back the projector blew up and was un-repairable. He has since been working to build up his fun money account to buy a new one. During the meantime we have been watching the tv in the bedroom which is fine, but the bed is the only place to sit and it isn’t High-Def (something I didn’t really care about until Mike enlightened me).
The new projector arrived on Saturday. It is wonderful. It is amazing how much clearer everything is in HD. I don’t enjoy non-HD tv as much anymore. and….. the Wii is back. It is very difficult trying to play tennis or bowling while maneuvering around the bed, hope chest, chest of drawers, etc. I can now get back to the only fitness routine I get besides chasing a 2 year old. I know I sound pathetic, but I had forgotten how much fun the Wii is. I run around like crazy and really get into the stuff. Mike mostly stands there and flicks his wrist and on average does better than me, but I get a better workout.
Camden has great fun in identifying items lately. He likes to pair the item and who it belongs to. For example it is Daddy’s car or Mommy’s car or Gigi’s car, etc. Today we told him that we were going to Chattanooga and were going to get in the car. He said, “Wanna ride Daddy’s car.” I told him that no, we were going in Mommy’s car. To that statement he responded “Clues car?”. I told him yes that we were going in the Clues car. If you can’t tell, our drop down DVD system is getting well used and he is now obsessed with Blues Clues. So Mommy’s car has now become Clues car and if you hear me humming “Blues Clues” you will now know why.
Camden can now officially open our doors. Sigh. The other night I left him in his room playing while I went and fixed a bottle for Jackson. I shut the door to keep him in. He was playing really well until it took me a little longer than expected to return. I then heard it. The sound of an opening door. I looked up and he was sticking his head out of his room looking for me. This wouldn’t be quite as big a deal except that in a couple of weeks we are moving him into the bed and out of the crib, so he won’t be contained anymore. (He hasn’t tried to get out of his crib since his 1st attempt didn’t go so well). Oh well. I knew it was coming, but…. So far he hasn’t figured out how to unlock the gate at the top of the stairs. I hope that lasts.
I am so tired of seeing headlines about the Pregnant ‘Man’. She is not a man. She has all of the internal female organs that allow for a pregnancy. Why is this news? Just because she poses as a male and takes male hormones, does not make her a man. If “he” didn’t have a uterus, then this would be news. Again, why is this news and why are big name talkshows talking to this person? Who cares?
